The 1:8 Initiative is the ongoing mission of Ephesus to love people, love our city and love the world. Based on Acts 1:8 where Jesus gives Christians the commission to be His witnesses to Jerusalem (city), Judea (region), Samaria (nation) and the ends of the earth (global), the 1:8 Initiative encompasses all of the outreach of Ephesus. There are always events and opportunities to plug into as a part of the 1:8 Initiative and you’ll find them here. Below are our upcoming neighborhood events. Keep checking back as we initiate our Justice component of the 1:8 Initiative.
- May 6th-South End Gallery Crawl-Ephesus will be hosting one of the stops on the South End Gallery Crawl every first Friday of the month through the 2011 season. Do you want to help host the evening or are you an artist or know an artist who would like to have their work displayed? Let us know.
- April 30th-Wilmore Day-We're very excited to be a part of Wilmore Day this year. We will be providing inflatable games for the kids and other support as the neighborhood needs.
- June Saturdays-Saturday morning workshops-On Saturdays during the summer we will be hosting workshops on various topics such as photography, massage therapy, gardening and more. The workshops will be free and open to the public. Have an idea for a workshop? Want to lead a workshop? This is a great way to connect.
- June (TBD)-Pub Debate, Gandalf v. Harry Potter-Join us at local watering hole as Seth Ervin and Ben Eige debate the wholesomeness of Gandalf and Harry Potter. Why is Gandalf okay for Christians, but Harry Potter isn't, or vice versa? Have an idea for a future debate, let us know.
